In 2017 I became a Reiki practitioner, achieving Level 2 which includes Distance Reiki. In 2020 and 2021 I studied with the Alchemy Circle, and also achieved a Master level. I have studied with 5 teachers, each of whom has enhanced my knowledge and confidence in the practice of Reiki.
As part of an international Reiki practice group - Spirit of Reiki, I helped develop a Reiki 1 course. Some of my activities include receiving mentorship from The Energetic Alchemist, serving as a member of two online healing circles, teaching Level 1 Reiki and offering Distance Reiki to people referred to me by word of mouth.
Personally I have benefited greatly from Reiki, as I have experienced healing on many levels – physical, spiritual and emotional. Healing is an ongoing journey and my own journey continues.
At this time I am pleased to offer Distance Reiki to people anywhere in the world, from my home in Peterborough Ontario, Canada. I would be honored to connect with you online and send Distance Reiki to you.
What to Expect in a Distance Reiki Session:
It is important to know that Reiki can do no harm. Reiki will go where it is needed and will complement other modalities of healing you may currently be receiving.
During the session you may experience one or more responses – relaxation, sleep, physical sensations, awareness of energy moving, thoughts, emotions or memories arising. Whatever you experience is right for you and you are ready to experience. You may feel nothing during the session. Energy will continue to move after the session, so you may experience some reactions in the following few days. Take note of anything you experience, as the body holds many messages for you.
To show up for your session, connect with me briefly before and after the session. Before, to ensure you understand what will happen, and after to share what, if anything, you experienced. It’s OK if you felt nothing and it’s OK if it was the most amazing thing you have ever felt. There is no wrong form of feedback.
How to Prepare for your Distance Reiki Session
· Prepare your space with anything that makes you happy and relaxed. Some suggestions are candles, soft music, soft lighting, incense and crystals.
· Plan your session for a time when you will have no interruptions or distractions for 30 minutes.
· Be well hydrated before the session, and drink water after the session.
· Sit or lie down in a comfortable place – reclining on your bed or in a comfortable chair.
· Once reclining, calm your mind by taking several deep breaths into your lower abdomen, then return your breathing to normal.
· Enjoy this time of doing nothing but “being”.
· Connect with me after the session, to share anything you experienced.
Reiki is a healing modality which taps into universal life force energy – it is the energy that is part of everyone and everything. The name Reiki is Japanese for spirit-energy. The Reiki practitioner channels the energy to the person receiving the session. Reiki can do no harm. Reiki goes where it is needed in the body. A Reiki practitioner has been trained to focus and channel the life force energy. This facilitates the flow of energy through the recipient, so that healing can take place. There are many potential benefits to Reiki including releasing stuck emotions, supporting physical healing, enhancing relaxation and sleep, allowing energy to move more freely through the body and raising awareness of one’s own energy body. Reiki is now recognized as a healing modality, being used in hospitals and hospice settings to promote well-being and healing. Reiki can be offered in person or at a distance. Distance Reiki is based on the principle that energy is universal, and we are all connected energetically. The Reiki practitioner has been trained to connect across space and time, to offer Reiki at a distance. This has proven extremely helpful and convenient in the global pandemic!
